The City of Dunwoody Police Department brings the Dunwoody community together to provide holiday gifts and a great experience for deserving local school-aged children.
2026 Update
For the 2026 holiday season, the Dunwoody Police Department is joining forces with participating local schools, DeKalb Fire Rescue, AMR and ChatComm to offer the opportunity for some of our community’s most deserving kids to “SHOP WITH A HERO.”
As part of DPD’s popular Christmas for Kids program, this year’s “SHOP WITH A HERO” theme allows qualified school-aged children an opportunity to shop for holiday gifts with a local First Responder. This program provides a non-intimidating setting for children to boost their self-esteem while learning about decision making – all while getting to know their local heroes!
HOW YOU CAN HELP: DONATE!
CFK Monetary Donations
The Dunwoody Police Foundation has graciously stepped in to help our CFK program by collecting monetary donations from the public at any time during the year! The DPF is a registered 501(c)3 organization. 100% of ALL funds collected for this program are used to purchase toys, gifts, and any food or supplies needed for upcoming CFK events. We cannot accept cash or gift cards.

History of Christmas For Kids
The Dunwoody Police Department Christmas for Kids (CFK) program began in 2009 with the goal of bringing our community together to provide Dunwoody’s most deserving children a little bit of Christmas “magic” during the holiday season.
NEW FOR 2026: The Dunwoody Police Department is teaming up with our local schools to identify their most deserving students to shop for holiday gifts with a local First Responders. This program helps boost kids’ self-esteem while learning about decision making – all while getting to know their local heroes in a non-intimidating setting!
Christmas for Kids is a community effort and is only made possible by the generosity of our citizens, businesses, and other local organizations.
