Project Information

The Winters Chapel Path project arose from a joint study, “Peachtree Corners – Dunwoody: Winters Chapel Road Area Study,” adopted by both cities in April 2015.  Phase II of the path extends along the west side of Winters Chapel Road from the end of Phase I at Charmant Place southward to Peeler Road, with a section passing through Peachtree Corners. The design is for a 12-foot-wide concrete path for two-way bicycle and pedestrian traffic, separated from the roadway by a landscaped buffer. Decorative pedestrian lights are also proposed.

Dunwoody’s path project continues to advance with strong state and federal support, including $1.5 million awarded in 2023 for Phase II construction and an additional $750,000 in federal design funding secured in 2025. With the final field survey completed in August 2025 and the Concept Report approved by the Georgia Department of Transportation in October 2025, the project is moving steadily toward its next phase.

Phase I from Dunwoody Club Drive to Charmant Place has been completed.
