This project proposes to fill gaps in the bicycle and walking path that is being developed in the Georgetown area.  As the construction of the path along Chamblee Dunwoody Road continues, the City is planning to extend it westward along Old Spring House Lane, connecting a short section of existing path to the path on Georgetown Square. The project will be funded through the city’s Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

Concept Development

The city’s design consultant, Practical Design Partners, developed a conceptual layout on the south side of Old Spring House Lane on either side of the existing path.

Old Spring House Lane path concept plan 1-14-22 image

The concept includes a 10-foot to 12-foot wide shared-use path and a 3-foot grass buffer along the southern side of Old Spring House Lane. This side was selected to connect the portion adjacent to 4001 Dunwoody Trace that has already been constructed. The design is being funded by the Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The estimated cost for this project is $670,000.
