Project Description:

This project consists of constructing a 10’ concrete multi-use trail connection between Eidson Road and Cherry Hill Lane that is approximately 215’ in length. The objective of the project is to transform a makeshift footpath connecting two neighborhoods into a paved multi-use trail. Currently, homeowners in both neighborhoods cut through the woods to lengthen the duration of their walks. The makeshift path that currently exists signifies that the route is already used by nearby residents. Formal trail construction is necessary to increase safety for residents that use this footpath. The new multi-use path will be ADA compliant, include installation of stormwater management devices, installation of multiple 3” cal. trees, and signage will be installed on the roadway and trail.

In 2023, the City of Dunwoody was awarded the Improving Neighborhood Outcomes in Disproportionately Impacted Communities grant that was made available to the state of Georgia through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

In 2023, the city’s stormwater design consultant started the design and evaluation of stormwater management and in 2024 the design was completed.

Currently, the project is finishing the right-of-way acquisition phase and utility coordination is underway and utility relocation schedules are due in November 2024.
