Dunwoody, GA – January 13, 2026 - The DeKalb Perimeter Community Improvement District (DeKalb Perimeter CID)—a self-taxing business district representing commercial property owners on the DeKalb County side of the Perimeter, including portions of Dunwoody—has announced a $360,000 investment continuing its longstanding partnership with the City of Dunwoody and the Dunwoody Police Department to advance public safety.

The two-year funding, covering 2026 and 2027, will sustain real-time response technologies already in use across the DeKalb Perimeter CID area while adding new aerial support capabilities to further enhance public safety efforts.

“Public safety continues to be one of our highest priorities,” said Ann Hanlon, Executive Director of the Perimeter CIDs. “Perimeter has earned its reputation as one of the most accessible and safest business communities in Georgia, and that's through partnerships like this that strengthen our foundation and keep this area a great place to do business, live, and visit."

The initiative builds on the public safety partnership established between the DeKalb Perimeter CID and the Dunwoody Police Department in 2024, which introduced advanced real-time response tools such as gunshot detection, live-view cameras, and license plate readers. These technologies are operated through Dunwoody Police's Real-Time Crime Center, which opened in August 2024 and serves as the central hub for coordinated monitoring and rapid response across the area. The addition of aerial support will further enhance the department’s ability to assess and respond to incidents quickly and safely.

A Business District Committed to Safety, Mobility, and Economic Vitality
The Perimeter submarket is one of the Southeast’s largest economic centers. The DeKalb Perimeter CID is one of two districts that form the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts (Perimeter CIDs), which work together to advance access, mobility, and public safety initiatives across Perimeter. By investing in both safety and infrastructure, the CIDs help sustain the long-term vitality and growth of the Perimeter area, ensuring it remains a destination where businesses and employees can thrive.

In Dunwoody, the Perimeter district includes a mix of major employers and landmark destinations such as Perimeter Mall and new live-work-play center High Street, along with leading office campuses like Ravinia, Terraces, and Campus 244. It is home to leading employers including Insight Global, Transportation Insight, IHG, and State Farm, with TriNet among the latest to announce plans to move to the area. Together, these properties and employers help make Perimeter a regional hub for business, retail, and innovation.
