Holiday Lights 2024 Mega TreeDunwoody, GA – November 24, 2025 – Dunwoody Parks and Recreation announces the return of Holiday Lights at Brook Run Park, now in its sixth year. This beloved tradition will shine brighter than ever with a brand-new Cosmic Wonderland theme. Opening night festivities kick off on Dec. 2 from 4 to 7 p.m., with Dunwoody City Council Members officially lighting the park at 6 p.m.

“Holiday Lights has become a Dunwoody tradition, inviting residents and visitors alike a chance to experience the magic of the season,” said Dunwoody Mayor Pro Tem Tom Lambert. “This year’s Cosmic Wonderland theme takes the experience to new heights. It’s one of the many reasons we proudly call Dunwoody your Holiday Headquarters.”

This year’s display features 100,000 lights that will shine nightly in the park until 10 p.m. through Dec. 31. Reflecting the theme of Cosmic Wonderland, the 2025 display includes eight enormous, illuminated planets, a life-sized UFO photo op, glow-in-the-dark seesaws, a touch-sensitive light-up play floor, and a meteor shower overhead.

The front field near the playground comes alive with a 30-foot Mega Tree, featuring more than 4,800 lights synchronized to holiday music in a 10-minute show. Nearby, giant illuminated snow globes provide cozy seating for prime viewing. Kids can visit Santa’s Rocket Launch station, where a 15-foot rocket, launch towers, and timed fog effects create the perfect lift-off.

What began in 2020 as a safe, self-guided community event has grown into a dazzling holiday tradition, drawing nearly 48,000 visitors each year. Holiday Lights is free and open for all to enjoy.

Opening night festivities will include free hot cocoa, donuts, and character photo-ops beginning at 4 p.m. Concessions for purchase will be available by Top Job Beverages and Cub Scout Pack 575 for its “Helpers and Heroes” fundraiser.

In addition to lights, Dunwoody Parks & Recreation will also mark the season with two letter campaigns.

  1. Letters to Seniors: Share holiday cheer with residents in assisted living communities. Drop letters at Dunwoody City Hall (4800 Ashford Dunwoody Road) or Spruill Arts Center (5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road) between Dec. 1–19 (noon deadline).
  2. Letters to Santa: Children can email Santa.Claus@dunwoodyga.gov with their name, mailing address, and message. Santa will reply with a personalized letter from the North Pole. Submissions accepted Dec. 1–19.
