Aggravated Assault/Hit and Run

**UPDATE**
The suspect identified in this case, Sheldon Mayers, turned himself in at the Dekalb County Jail Wednesday night, April 30, around 10:00pm. The victim, identified as Terry Crosby, remains in the hospital in stable condition. 

Dunwoody, GA - April 25, 2025 - On April 25th, 2025, at 2:20am, officers responded to a person hit by a vehicle call at 4719 Ashford Dunwoody Rd, which is The Bird restaurant. A male and his girlfriend were sitting at the bar when a second male approached his girlfriend. He touched the female to get her attention, which lead to a physical fight between the two males. Once the fight broke up, management ordered all parties involved to leave the establishment. The male and his girlfriend entered the parking lot, and the male was struck by a vehicle. Witnesses stated the vehicle intentionally drove towards the male, struck him and left the scene. Initial information officers received indicated someone was shot. No evidence has been found to support this claim.

The victim is a male is his mid 40’s who was transported to Grady Hospital with serious injuries. He is in critical but stable condition.

This is an active investigation.
