Dunwoody 4th of July Parade

  • Date: 07/04/2026 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • Introduction: Presented by the Dunwoody Homeowners Association

The Dunwoody Homeowners Association is the proud sponsor of the Dunwoody Fourth of July Parade—a beloved community tradition and one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in the state of Georgia.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Dunwoody July 4th Parade, Georgia’s largest Independence Day parade. This year’s Grand Marshal is the Dunwoody Preservation Trust. Spectators line the streets and often stake out their places a day or two in advance. The parade starts at 9 a.m. at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Road and Jett Ferry Road, proceeds west on Mt. Vernon toward the Dunwoody Village, then turns right on Dunwoody Village Parkway before ending in the Dunwoody Village parking lot. The 2.7-mile route takes about an hour to walk. Look for festive floats, marching bands, dancers, vintage cars, and local leaders.

Stay after the parade to enjoy a family festival in the Dunwoody Village parking lot near Walgreens. Scout Troop 266 will have BBQ plates for sale for its largest fundraiser. In addition, the Rotary Club of Dunwoody will host a hot dog stand. Stop by sponsor booths and enjoy music while waiting for the parade awards to be announced.
