Girls Who Walk - Dunwoody

Girls Who Walk Dunwoody was created because we saw a real need for more accessible, welcoming spaces where women in the area could connect in a natural and low-pressure way. Making friends and building community as an adult can be difficult, especially for women who are new to the area, working from home, navigating life transitions, or simply looking for a consistent way to get out, move, and meet people.

Our goal is simple: to create a space for women to walk, talk, connect, and feel part of something local.
What began as an idea for a weekly walk has already started to grow into something much more meaningful. Our walks are designed to be welcoming, inclusive, and accessible. There is no pressure to be a certain fitness level, no expectation to already know anyone, and no formal membership required. We want women to feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are, whether they come alone, with a friend, or because they want to meet new people and move on a Sunday morning.

Our weekly walks currently take place on Sunday mornings, 10 am at Brook Run Park, followed by coffee and chats at the Lucky Goat Coffee Co. We chose Brook Run because it is central, accessible, and a great gathering place in Dunwoody. The post-walk coffee has also become a lovely way for people to continue conversations and build real friendships after the walk ends.

A big part of our mission is to support not only individual connection, but also the wider Dunwoody community. We want Girls Who Walk Dunwoody to encourage women to spend time in local parks, support local businesses, and feel more connected to the place they live. Over time, we hope to grow beyond weekly walks into additional community gatherings such as weekday walks, dinner at Bar{n} and other local restaurants, volunteer opportunities, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
