Criminal Investigations Division
The Dunwoody Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of one Sergeant, six Detectives, one Crime Scene Technician, one Crime Analyst and one HIDTA agent.
Detectives are responsible for investigating serious crimes against persons as well as property crimes; normally referred to as Part 1 crimes. In addition, Detectives are responsible for the investigation of other crimes including credit card fraud, bad checks, and similar crimes. The Detectives are on-call to assist the Uniform division when requested.
The Crime Scene Technician is responsible for the recovery of evidence and the methodical processing of crime scenes.
The Crime Analyst is responsible for the identification of crime trends, series, and patterns for the deployment of resources.
