Citizens Police Academy 

 

The Dunwoody Police Department will be hosting its next Citizen's Police Academy in spring 2011. The academy is ten weeks long and will be held every Tuesday night from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.  The academy will have a variety of topics to include, but not limited to:  Traffic Enforcement, Gangs, Detective Division, Patrol, Special Weapons and Tactics, Community Outreach Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Evidence.  We will be including a tour of the Dekalb County Jail and the new ChattComm 911 center in Sandy Springs. 

We will be accepting 20 more applications for the third academy.  This will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Every packet that we receive after August 31st will be placed on a waiting list for next year.  Please download the application below and turn it into the front desk at 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 100, Dunwoody, GA 30346.  There will be a background check conducted on each applicant.  This is open to City of Dunwoody residents only.

Once accepted, you will be given a City of Dunwoody identification card and Polo shirt.
