Mr. Brian J. Anderson became the first City Attorney for the new City of Dunwoody in October 2008.
Previously, Mr. Anderson was a partner with FSB Legal Counsel and the General Counsel for iVivity, Inc. He also worked four years as an attorney for the law firm of Morris Manning & Martin.
As City Attorney, Mr. Anderson developed the City Code and ordinances and negotiated with County to continue to provide services to the City. He was instrumental in the development of a hybrid start up plan as an alternative approach to a general vendor providing city services.
As an attorney with a passion for Dunwoody, Mr. Anderson was the acting president of Citizens for Dunwoody, Inc. and served on the Executive Committee from its inception to the official start of the City. He also was instrumental in developing a City government that used contractors to provide most of the city services which has enabled the City to start operations smoothly and efficiently. He worked closely with Representative Millar and Senator Weber to achieve passage by the legislature of City Charter. In addition, Mr. Anderson was a drafter of the original Charter.
Mr. Anderson earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Georgia State University in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Texas A&M in 1986. He is married to Tammy Anderson. They reside in Dunwoody and have four young children.
