Parks Master Plan
The Parks and Open Space master planning process began following the
June 2010 acquisitions of six park properties from DeKalb County.
Master planning is a process by which the community works with the City
to create a vision and guiding plan for the City’s future investment in
its current parks and potential acquisition of additional parkland and
open space. The City Council will be discussing the Master Plan over
the coming weeks during regularly scheduled Council meetings.
The Master Plan includes an overview of current facilities and
recreation opportunities, operations analysis, budget review, funding
strategy discussion, as well as individual park and facility assessments
and recommendations.
