Sharon Lowery became the first city clerk for the new City of Dunwoody January 2009.
Previously, Ms. Lowery was with the City of Snellville for twenty-five
years of dedicated service. Holding various positions from 1984 to 2009.
From 1993 to 2009 Ms. Lowery held the distinguished position as City
Clerk for the City of Snellville.
In 2001 Ms. Lowery was a presenter at the Annual Georgia Municipal
Association Convention in Savannah. As a presenter she spoke on the
importance of the internet to local government and the launching of the
City of Snellville’s first web site in 1999. She is also a member of the
Georgia Government Finance Officers Association, Georgia Municipal
Clerks Association, and the International Municipal Clerks Association.
During her tenure as City Clerk, Ms. Lowery was instrumental in the
planning and execution in the move of the Snellville government to the
new city hall facility in March 2006.
In addition, Ms. Lowery also acted as the city's municipal election
superintendent, the chief registrar for city elections and voter
registration for Snellville from 1993-2009.
Ms. Lowery was born and raised in Georgia. She is married to Ron Lowery and the proud mother of two sons and two granddaughters.
