The Dunwoody Police Department gave out its 2012 achievement awards for officers and employees that made an impact throughout the year.  It is important to recognize excellence among the staff.  The police department recognized six individuals for their achievements during the 2012 calendar year.  They were recognized for Officer of the Year, Employee of the Year, Marksman of the Year, Meritorious Service Medal and Rising Star Award.

They were as follows:

He never dismisses even the smallest opportunity to engage with citizens young or old.  Officer Peck was commended for his thorough investigative skills and quick actions in the Firkin Gryphon Restaurant televisions burglary which not only resulted in the apprehension of the suspect, but the safe return of all stolen equipment to that business.  Officer Peck has not only demonstrated that he is a well rounded officer, but he is truly a “Team” member.

Employee of the Year:  Kristin Adkins- Police Service Representative Adkins handles the pressures of her job with ease and has quickly learned the myriad of job knowledge and skills required of her position.  Ms. Adkins goes far beyond what is required of her and continually will complete work that could be left for others.
